Tongariro River Access 14

Access 14: The Big Daddy of the river. This grade 4 section of the river only flows on 3 days of the year. Come and experience the premier section of grade 4 whitewater in New Zealand. This steep continuous section of whitewater will have you grinning ear to ear the same as your guides. In fact guides from all over the place want to come and work when these flow days happen it is so good.

Departure Days & Times:

Release days: 21st February, 11th April, 26th of September 2021
Times: 9am and 12pm. 9am books first then 12pm.

Departure Points:

The Rafting Centre, 95 Atirau Rd, Turangi

What you need to bring:

Togs and a Towel.

During Covid Level 2 we require everybody to bring a Buff with them to wear as a face covering in our base, vehicles and on the river.

  • Clothing & Safety: Polar fleece jersey, splash jacket, helmet, wet suit, wet suit boot, life jacket
  • Food & Drink: Wholesome deli food. Tea and coffee
  • Hot pools: Hot swim at Tokaanu Hot Pools (winter only)
